Pratical

The practical test is divided into two parts:
  • Part one includes manoeuvres carried out at slow speed including a slalom, U turn and slow ride plus off bike handling skills
  • Two manoeuvres carried out at higher speed, of which one should be in second or third gear, at a speed of at least 19 mph and one manoeuvres avoiding an obstacle at a minimum speed of 32 mph the other the emergency stop.
  • Good news as of the 16th of May 2011 you will now get an additional ride around the circuit as the controled stop is now a seperate exercise and not part of the speed tests.
During your practical road ride test you will be marked on every minor fault and you must not receive more than 15 minor errors and no serious or dangerous faults.

You will no longer be required to carry out the two special exercises being the "U turn" and the emergency stop during your road ride as you would have done them during your part one practical.

As a rider you must comply with the minimum requirement for the eye sight test. You must be able to read a car number plate with 79.4mm figures from a distance of 20.5 meters either with or without spectacles/contact lenses.
